I ran the diagnostics that came with the computer and everything is fine. Then I found the following white paper on HP site and did this, but when it comes to the part where I install XP I get the same blue screen.

Drive reformatting will operate normally. After the target drive is reformatted, the next step is to reboot the system. At this point, the system should reboot and display the start of Microsoft Windows Setup, then present a status window as it copies Restore Plus!
The failure is that the workstation will instead boot again to the initial language menu of the Restore Plus! CD because the hard drive is not detected.
This will require the Setup password if one has been defined. After the Microsoft Windows installation and setup is complete, remove the Restore Plus! CD and shutdown the workstation.
