I guess I'll get another XXT since they are so cheap atm. But seriously, a friend of mine came by after I had the NEC set up. Mind you he's not really biased, and has lots of computer experience. And to the best of my memory his remark seems to be "right on". And this one is definately a keeper. I very rarely watch it. I'll test it with my PS2 tomorrow. And in the future I'm most likely get an Xbox Overall, even though I understand that the price is higher than other LCDs of it's size.
The fact that it is actually a multifunction display justifies the extra expense. This is a superb display. Pulsar Gawd. Joined Jan 16, Messages Pulsar said:. You can alleviate it somewhat with the OSD controls has convergence controls , but not wholly without an ISF calibration which is possible on this display.
However, this is most likely down to my set, I've seen people with fewer convergence problems. There are also some extremely minor geometry issues, namely vertical geometry, again, not fixable without ISF calibration. However, this is absolutely almost impossible to see, and everyone else that uses display doesn't see these issues im very picky.
The brigthness is fantastic, and contrast is rediculous, on par with the best CRTs I've used, and much better than both my Bravia S-series 32" and the Dell. The display also doesn't have any image lag or "blur" other than the very stereotipical CRT blur noticeable in high contrast areas However, despite these extremely minor issues, it is an amazing display.
The Dell doesn't even come close, with the comparitevely slow response time, backlight bleeding, low contrast, etc.
It is completely readable for me, just make sure to turn off Clear Type, and you are set. Looks beautiful, great for movies, amazing for widescreen gamin Oblivion on my Xxtx is drool worthy. My only serious complaint? I wish it wasn't so small. I am skipping LCDs personally until shuttered backlights come around which will help with blur a helluva lot. SED is another contender for my money. Gaming will also be better on the FW MultiSync 90GX2.

The TV tuner worked as advertised, though we do wish it were an ATSC tuner in this burgeoning era of digital television.
But the NEC refused to go into mode even when we did this. It was a pretty odd quirk, but may only mean something if you really care about the aspect ratio of your PC content when running in mode. That may sell more displays in stores, but beware of reflections in your environment.
