Patch notes pygmy suckerfish

From level No ghostfish -Flew up to the stream in front of the waterfall going into the heart of the river Ghostfish on 2nd reel. Kommentar von If you are crazy like me and want to try the dailies out while you're still in the early 70s you can do it by heading to the Fizzcrank Airstrip in the Borean Tundra and then running North past the Bor'Gorok Outpost into Sholazar. Keep running on that road north till you get to the river crossing near the Nessingwary camp Approach the river carefully.

If you position yourself just right you can still fish without aggroing the crocs that are right there. Kommentar von XinR It can be caught anywhere..

One would assume a pool would be better since its' a leech fish, kind alike the pygmy suckerfish, you won't catch JUST the ghostfish, it'll leech onto something else. In 1 circle, i got 2 Frost Lotus and one every visit 3 times in a row, so not complete lost.

Miners can also find saronite and rich adamantite in there as well, so all in all, a resource rich area, no matter what gathering skill you have. Lucky me :o In the Rivers Heart. Like 2 meters away from the flight master over there! Kommentar von CameronCanning Got it on my first try in a Nettlefish pool. Kommentar von DrAwkward I'm fairly certain that if your fishing level is low, as mine is, you have to fish in a pool to catch the ghostfish.

With a fishing skill between 50 and I casted over 30 times and caught only junk then moved to a nettle fish pool and caught a ghostfish within a few casts. I did this two days in a row with the same results, of course, my fishing skill was somewhat higher the second day. Kommentar von Confirmed You don't have to fish in any pools.. Caught one in no more than 10 casts. Kommentar von pritrix "Phantom Ghostfish must be used within 1 min or it disappears from your bag and you must fish again for it.

Kommentar von Side Note: Druid Forms get rid of the invisibility. Kommentar von Kaynos Just want to say that peoples saying it can be caught at any fishing level are right but it's gonna take you a hell of a lot of time if your low. I start fishing this at 50 fishing, at fishing skill, an hour later still hasnt caught it. I have 2 others toons with max fishing, on this one i choosen not to raise fishing because it's just so boring. With my other 2 toons i get the ghost fish in 1 to 10 attempts.

So peoples saying it can be caught at any level yeah right if you have a few hours. QQ I hate this quest. Kommentar von Took me a good while. SInce I'm a low LvL fisher. XD 38 Freaking levels! That's how bad I am at fishing. Pretty cool fish though. Kommentar von 01nicolaj Caught it on like fifth time in River's heart :. I was fishing in open water. Did casts and nothing.

Decided to take a break from getting tangled fishing lines and tattered cloth and went to a nettlefish pool. On my fifth cast I got it. Guess they patched it. Fish this in Nettlefish schools! Kommentar von I've been fishing on 3 PvP servers since launch You wade to a point where you're mostly underwater, but not swimming and then hit this macro.

Under ideal conditions, your line is actually entirely underwater. The pre Couple this with the terrain. At the Heart, I first tried out fishing from the two cascades next to the road leading out to Nesingwary. The one next to the road, can't really be worked casts fail "too shallow" , but the one next to that worked decently. The base of the waterfall at the south edge of Heart worked best.

You're away from roads and FP. Put yourself at the west end of that base, and cast across parallel to the base, towards the east. Fishing line is all underwater AND is masked by the churning animation. Kommentar von Trquis For all you people who are wondering You CAN catch the Ghostfish in the swamp area above the waterfalls.. I caught mine on my second try so I find that place luckier than the lake since I put casts into the lake and only 2 in the swamps.

Kommentar von Confirmed catch at skill level Took 30 minutes or so but a catch nonetheless. Kommentar von It took me 73 casts so try and be patient as much as possible.

It can get frustrating, believe me xD. Or you will have to fish for it again and that won't be fun at all. Kommentar von Teddiursa Yeesh. Went from 1 to 70 fishing skill doing this quest. Kommentar von Went to S. Woo Hoo! Kommentar von I am so confused with what you are suppose to do for this quest, because I have been fishing in sholazar basin since I was at a skill level of and now I'm almost and still have not completed this very time consuming quest. My only question is do you have to be in a "ghostform" or something like that to do this quest, kinda like in the screenshots where your screen goes blurry and the corner of the game screen turns white or do u just fish and that all.

Kommentar von beaverman I'm level 73 and i been at this for over an hour. I've gone from fishing and no ghostfish Kommentar von I fished in the Heart of River for 50 cast outs. Then went over the top of the most westerly waterfall and u come into The Seabreach Flow where there are crocs.

U still have to eat the item within 1 minute! U go almost invisible for about 30 secs but the quest should be complete by the time u are normal again. My fishing is lvl and i had a fishing lure attached to a Blump family fishing pole. Hope this helps a little. In the Sholozar Basin, took some of the advice spilled here. Started fishing Nettlefish pools. Probably cast about 10 casts first 2 pools. But the third pool on my 5th cast caught a ghostfish, promptly ate it and disappeared.

Returned to Dalaran for reward. Level up! Kommentar von Caras Similar experience. Fishing , no lure. Kommentar von After eating the ghostfish and becoming transparent, once you go to flight form if you're a druid it takes the transparent buff off, sadly. Kommentar von Just putting this thought out there for all those people looking for a "perfect" spot that drops the fish quickly, it is still a random drop. As fishing IRL goes, you just have to be patient. Kommentar von bittertide lake did the trick for me.

Kommentar von Griezz There seems to be a rather easy way to do it. See, the quest description itself mentions that the Ghostfish hides among suckerfish, right? So what's the best way to get suckerfish? You fish in pools. Also, the description itself directly mentions River's Heart in Sholozar Basin, so I don't know how useful it would be to fish elsewhere, including the rivers that lead into River's Heart.

In short: River's Heart needed. Suckerfish needed. Suckerfish best fished in pools. I did the quest twice; both times resulted in a ghostfish appearing within 8 casts. Oh, and don't forget to eat the fish as soon as you catch it.

I tried to bring the fish back to Dalaran, but it disappeared by the time I got there. Kommentar von Caught one in Rivers Heart after almost ten minutes of fishing. Ensure you eat it straight away or it disappears and you will have to redo it. Easy Peasy. Kommentar von Espenbv Got it on my 5th cast, when you get it just use it and the quest is complete. I was fishing at River's Heart 49, Kommentar von Rebexii You don't have a 1minute timer after its caught upon catching it will say 0seconds.

Do not log out and eat it asap. Also the actually mystery of the ghostfish if any of you hasn't got it yet is, the fish isn't a ghost it can just turn invisable. Kommentar von Brooklynboy I have found a way of fishing in the heaviest of warzones where I rarely get attacked I use that plan for any quest that puts me close to ''the other side'', so far it's worked out fine.

Comment by I don't seem to be having any luck fishing at the northern lakes in the snowy areas of HF. Any chance that it's "too cold" for the parasites? Comment by Oddly enough, you can fish these up simultaneously with crystallized water. Comment by LumiyaSpellsong Thank you for this tip. I tried fishing off the coast near crabs within Vengeance Landing so it said VL on my minimap but wasn't having much luck so I moved just outside along the coast so that my mini map changed to Howling Fjord at Definitely worth changing spots for.

Comment by The drop rate from these in pools will skyrocket with patch 3. Obviously prices will collapse. Since I am several thousand casts in howling fjord seeking the dark herring i have piles of theses, I'm selling them off as fast as I can and I suggest you do the same.

Comment by clifford This is correct. You will generally catch pygm when fishing outside of pools. Comment by Catches in unnamed coastal waters are the same as catches from inland water.

This is a longstanding Northrend "glitch" that applies to all fishing. Coastal areas that have a specific name contain "coastal" fish. Sells yours on the AH before they are worthless. Comment by I just logged in today after the patch went live, went to Grizzly Hills and caught 20 Salmon from pools. From that 20 Salmon I also caught 16 Pygmy Suckerfish. I don't know if this is a mistake from the patch or if the drop rate has really increased this much.

I'm on my way to catch some other fish to see if the same has happened elsewhere. Comment by Same in Patch 3. I got 2 stacks from nettlefish and glacial salmon pools. Comment by Kaliope 14 out of 18 catches post Comment by I think Blizzard increased the drop rate of the suckerfish. Comment by silicon been getting these fish almost with every cast in basin and grizzly hills only two i tested so far.

Comment by CallMeVlad I've caught noticeably more of these since patch 3. Comment by Yes, since 3. I have been in the Tundra fishing Mussleback Sculpin for about 30 minutes. I have caught 66 Sculpin and 53 Pygmy fishing pools in Lake Kum'uya. I have the Croc fishing daily sitting in my quest log, so i am not sure if the bug with this quest is affecting rate.

Edit: Mussleback from pools in Tundra 95 Pygmy from same pools in Tundra I moved to the Basin for Nettlefish and the same fish-rate seems to apply. Comment by Confirmed! Pygmy Suckerfish drop-rate is now greatly increased. Comment by I've found that any school has an amazing drop rate on these now. Even had some attached to crates and crystallized water. Can't say I'm happy, this used to be a big money maker for me, but oh well. I caught over Salmon and collected close to 90 Pygmies so I don't know what the others are talking about.

Just fish the salmon and you will get the pygmies. Fish the Salmon in Grizzly Hills. Look up Glacier Salmon and you will see all the fishing places.

Comment by fibulator I caught several of these in schools of fish in Zanglemarsh post 3. Comment by koldawne Confirmed increase in Dargonblight pools also. I fish in the pools at both Lake Indu'le and at the Westwind refugee camp - and I was catching nearly 1 for 1.

I caught 27 Angelfish and 20 Pygmy's. I have fished these pools before and have never gotten any Pygmy's at those locations. Comment by rzzr These fish are now becoming a pain. They fill up your bags and the AH is flooded with them, so much so that before long it will be cheaper to sell them as vendor trash. I am not sure what Blizz's idea was behind this but they might as well take the fish out of the game. With the new fish feast recipe everyone is going to be pulling stacks of these out of the water!

Comment by As of patch 3. Comment by Alecat Confirmed that the salmon schools yeild nearly as much pygmys as salmon.. Comment by Alecat Not anymore. An hour and a half or so of fishing in only Glacial Salmon schools gave me: Glacial Salmon x 73 Pygmy Suckerfish x Comment by If you are a herby with maxxed fishing the droprate increase is just made of win.

Turn em to Pygmy oil and then make a Flask of Mighty Mojo or Potion of Speed I find these sell better and high end guilds sup on these like candy Else see if any of your friends will buy these off you in bulk to make speed pots :- not everyone can be bothered with fishing :-P.

Comment by i don't get the discussion of rarity. I've been fishing in pools all over Northrend and the things keep popping up. Auctioneer says they're valuable, but I've never sold a single stack at multiple prices I've tried. Does anyone really buy these or are they really vendor trash in disguise? Comment by I only catch these fish inside of schools After 3 pools I had a full stack of Nettlefish and Pygmy Suckerfish.

There are schools of Dragon Angelfish, nearly every time you loot a fish out of a school, you also get a suckerfish. Just finished farming a stack of fish feast total fish caught 93 Pygmy Suckerfish. Comment by If you look next to the name of the person who posts, it tells you what build they posted during.

If you bother to take that into account you would see that they were talking about how rare this fish was before 3. Comment by retro Confirmed, you can also have them attached to Crystallized Water when you fish them up from schools. Comment by These things drop like friggin' flies now off just about any node in Northrend.

I know they drop off of about every Manta Ray you catch out of Imperial Manta nodes. I used to be able to sell a stack for around 95g pre-patch. I went to the AH a few days ago Thanks Blizz, a cash cow has been sent to slaughter!

Comment by This is not always the case. If you want a spectacular drop rate, fish in Nettlefish Schools in Sholazar Basin. You'll get one just about every time along side a Nettlefish or Barrelhead Goby amongst other random drops - Reinforced Crate and Crystalized Water for example.

Nettlefish will get you some good money as well in the AH - anywhere from 50g to 99g for a stack of Barrelhead Goby, not so much - anywhere from 5g to 20g for a stack of Happy Fishing! Comment by Not sure why these fish are so ubiquitous now, but it's put a dent in my fishing auction revenues. Wowpedia Explore. Main Page All Pages. World of Warcraft.
